Our region · How we work locally

Sterling-based. Northern-Virginia-focused.

Our office is in Sterling, and most of our crews live within ten miles of it. The footprint we cover — eight towns spanning the eastern half of Loudoun County and the western half of Fairfax County — is the footprint we can reach in 25 minutes on a Tuesday morning. That’s not marketing. It’s how we schedule the work.

Each town has its own housing stock, permitting quirks, and seasonal weather patterns. Sterling and Ashburn lean toward 1990s colonials and townhomes; Vienna and Fairfax have older brick and clapboard inventory; Reston and Herndon mix the two. We’ve worked on all of it since 2013, and the city pages below get specific about what that looks like on your street.

What we see across the region

Common Northern Virginia exterior challenges

Working across this region for 13 years means we have learned what the climate, the housing stock, and the local building codes do to homes here.

Aging vinyl siding from the 80s and 90s

Sterling, Ashburn, Reston, Herndon, and Centreville have significant inventory from this era. The vinyl that was installed then is now reaching the end of its lifespan. Fading, brittleness, and warping are the most common signs.

HOA-approved color and material palettes

Newer neighborhoods in Ashburn, Reston, and parts of Fairfax have HOA approval requirements for exterior changes. We have worked with most of the major HOAs in our service area and know how to prepare approval packages.

Energy efficiency on aging windows

Single-pane and early double-pane windows from the 70s and 80s are still common in established neighborhoods. These are the highest-ROI replacements we do; the energy bill difference is immediate and significant.

Tree canopy and gutter sizing

Reston, parts of Sterling, and much of Herndon have heavy tree canopy. Standard 5-inch gutters overflow in storms. We upgrade to 6-inch with appropriately sized downspouts.

Freeze-thaw damage on trim and fascia

Northern Virginia’s winter cycles cause significant damage on painted wood trim. We wrap rather than repaint, because repaint cycles fail after 5 to 8 years.

Six services ยท one crew ยท since 2013

Complete exterior solutions for your home.

Six services the same crew has done together since 2013 โ€” one quote, one warranty, one phone number.

01

Windows

Energy-efficient replacement windows that hold their seal and their look โ€” installed in a single day on most homes.

03

Siding

Vinyl, fiber-cement, and insulated siding that protects the house and earns back its cost in energy bills.

04

Trim

Maintenance-free PVC and composite trim โ€” the architectural lines that make a house look finished.

05

Gutters

Seamless aluminum gutters, hidden hangers, and leaf protection โ€” the part of the house that quietly does the most work.

06

Roofing

Architectural shingle roofs with manufacturer-backed warranties โ€” installed by the same crew that does your siding.

Why hire local

Why local matters for an exterior contractor

A homeowner in Northern Virginia can find a national chain or an out-of-area contractor without much trouble. They will likely show up, do the work, and disappear. They do not know your HOA. They do not know what the previous owner installed. They are not the person you are going to call in three years when something needs a callback.

We are local. Our office is in Sterling at 506 Shaw Rd Suite 311. The crews live within driving distance. When something needs a callback after the install (and sometimes things do), we come back. That is the point of being local.

They installed fourteen windows in a single morning and cleaned up so well I couldn’t tell they’d been here. Eddie’s crew was respectful, on time, and the windows look beautiful.

Dear Ed — thank you for the new front door. The crew was here exactly when you said they’d be, and the finish is even better in person than it looked on the sample. We’ll be calling you for the siding next spring.

Got three quotes for a full roof replacement. Virginia Exteriors wasn’t the cheapest, but Eddie was the only one who climbed up and actually looked. Worth every dollar — the new roof was on in two days and they hauled away every last shingle.
