How our window installs are different
Every window we install is measured to your specific opening and ordered to those measurements. We do not stock anything. No matter how unusual the shape, the size, or the trim around it, the window that arrives is built for your home.
We install with our own employees. Not manufacturer-installed subcontractors. Not crews picked up for the season. The people you meet on day one are the same ones doing the work, and they have been doing it on Northern Virginia homes for an average of 13 years.

Based in Sterling since 2013. We know these neighborhoods and how Northern Virginia homes are built.
Own crew
Not subcontractors
Our employees do the work. Same faces from the measure visit through the final walkthrough.
Custom
Ordered to your opening
Every window is measured and manufactured for your exact rough opening. No stock windows crammed into your home.
1 day
For most installs
We arrive early and finish before the end of the day. We do not leave jobs mid-install.
Window styles we install
Most Northern Virginia homes have a mix of these styles. We can match your existing layout exactly, or walk you through alternatives that perform better for the room.
Double Hung
Both sashes operate and most tilt in for easy interior cleaning. The most common style in Northern Virginia homes and the easiest to maintain. Available in virtually every size.
Casement
Crank-out, hinged on one side, swings open up to 90°. Good over kitchen sinks, in bay configurations, or anywhere you want full ventilation and easy interior cleaning.
Awning
Hinged at the top, opens outward. Stays open without blocking rain — a strong choice for porches, basements, or any opening where ventilation matters even in a drizzle.
Slider
Sashes move left to right — the horizontal equivalent of a double hung. Designed for openings wider than they are tall, common on ranch-style and split-level homes.
Bay & Bow Windows
Projecting units that push out from the wall and add light, depth, and a seat board. Bay windows have three angled panels; bow windows have four or more curved panels. Both include cable or knee supports and a seat board in your choice of finish.
Garden Windows
A small projecting box with a fixed face and two operable casement side panels. Smaller than a bay, ideal over kitchen sinks — adds light, depth, and a shelf without a structural change.
Picture & Fixed
Non-operable windows that prioritize light and views. Often used as the center panel flanked by casements or double-hungs, or in large openings where ventilation is not needed.
Specialty Shapes
Fixed-pane windows in non-rectangular forms: circle tops, half-rounds, triangles, octagons, hexagons, ovals, trapezoids. Usually paired with a primary window below or used as architectural accents.

What happens after you call
Most window projects follow three predictable steps. No hidden phases, no surprise visits, no pressure to decide on the spot.
01
Free estimate visit
We come to you. One of our estimators measures every opening, assesses frame condition, and walks you through the style and brand options that fit your project. The estimate is in writing and there is no obligation.
02
Windows built to spec
Once you approve the quote, we place the order with the manufacturer. Windows are built to your exact measurements. Lead time is typically 4 – 8 weeks depending on the product line. We schedule install as soon as they arrive.
03
Install day
Our crew arrives early and works through the home in sequence. Most installs finish the same day. At the end, we demonstrate operation and tilt-in cleaning on every window, hand over warranty paperwork, and leave the site clean.
Common questions about window replacement
How long does window replacement take?
Most window installations take one day from start to finish. A crew of two can typically replace 8 – 15 windows in a single day depending on style and accessibility. Bay and bow window projects, which involve framing and structural work, occasionally extend to two days.
How much does window replacement cost in Northern Virginia?
Single-window replacements in standard styles typically run $600 – $1,200 installed, depending on size, style, and manufacturer. Full-house projects vary widely. We measure your specific openings and give you an itemized written price before anything is ordered — no ballpark estimates, no surprises at invoice.
What is the difference between a pocket replacement and a full-frame replacement?
A pocket replacement (also called an insert replacement) drops a new window unit into your existing frame, leaving the exterior casing and interior trim untouched. A full-frame replacement removes the entire window assembly down to the rough opening and installs a new unit with new frame and trim. Pocket replacements are faster and less disruptive. Full-frame replacements are the right call when the existing frames are rotted, out of square, or if you want a different rough-opening size. We assess frame condition at the estimate visit and recommend the right approach for your home.
Do I need a permit to replace windows in Virginia?
For like-for-like replacements — same rough opening size, no structural changes — most Northern Virginia jurisdictions (Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, Arlington) do not require a permit. Projects that change opening size, add egress windows in bedrooms, or involve structural modifications generally do require one. We tell you upfront if your project falls into a permit-required category and handle the application when needed.
Which window brand do you recommend?
For most Northern Virginia homes, Harvey and MI Sunrise hit the best cost-to-performance point. Andersen 400 Series and ProVia are the step-up picks for larger budgets or homes with more demanding architectural requirements. Simonton is a strong pick when fast lead times matter. We carry all of them and we do not have a financial incentive to push one brand over another — our recommendation at the estimate is based on your home and your budget, not our margin.
Do you install windows in cold weather?
Yes. Cold weather does not significantly affect the quality of a vinyl window installation. We track the forecast and will reschedule if conditions are unsafe for the crew, but cold alone is not a reason to delay your project. We have been installing windows on Northern Virginia homes through every winter since 2013.
